Our Team
Every member of Naco Wellness’ 12-person staff plays a vital role, whether in the clinics as Promotoras, cooks, and health educators; in the schools as instructors and meal providers; or at San Jose Organic Community Garden through planting, teaching and maintenance. Whenever there’s a big event – planting or harvest, weekly senior citizen lunch, Spirit of Christmas, or other community celebrations – it’s a full-team effort.
Everyone contributes. Everyone is heard. Everyone is on the Board of Directors. Everyone matters.
NWI’s Directors
When NWI moved operations to Naco, Sonora, in 2010, Lupita Sanchez generously loaned the organization a building. Thank goodness, she came with it. She became cofounder Tom Carlson’s interpreter and coworker, and helped forge countless connections. She knows everyone in Naco, and everyone knows her.
Along with Tom Carlson, she is NWI’s Director. She acts as chief liaison with the City of Naco and Naco Schools, chief news and friendship promoter, and Hugger in Chief. She lends a hand on all projects. Reach her at nacowellness@gmail.com.
